"You Don't Have To Die To Go To Hell"

[PLEASE NOTE – This is not an article for the spiritually faint-hearted. If this were on TV, I'd have the announcer say that "parental discretion" is advised. In other words, it's not  for those still on "spiritual milk" and not yet ready for the meat.]

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)

What is the "me" Jesus is referring to? As Jesus Himself tells us, He's referring to the Holy Spirit--the God within all of us who are born again.

But you can't benefit from the "God within" you until you (a) accept that it's there, (b) embrace it, and (c) surrender to it.

Surrender what?

Surrender your earth-oriented ego, the defender of your misplaced priorities and the protector of your error-filled worldly beliefs. Until you are willing to do this, you are quite literally condemned--by your own hand--to living a very un-heavenly existence.

God is love, isn't He? Heaven, therefore, is dwelling in the presence of God--in the presence of His love.

Hell must therefore be dwelling in the absence of God, in the absence of love. If we are truly given the freedom to chose, as the Bible assures us we are, then we are free to choose between love and fear--between God and the absence of God. Between Heaven and hell.

Now I Ask You, Do You Have To Die

Before You Get The Power To Make This Choice?

Do you have to die before you can choose to create a hellish experience? Could you be choosing a hellish experience right here, right now, in your daily, hourly, moment-to-moment, everyday life?

Absolutely! And tragically, many of us are doing exactly that—even thought we may not be doing it consciously.

If you will always have the power of free choice, whether in a physical body or not, could you always create a hellish experience for yourself simply by choosing fear instead of love? And could your hellish experience go on indefinitely, as long as you continued to choose fear over love?

Yes, it sure could. In fact, it will.

It's really very simple. Your own consciousness is what determines your choices. Your choices, in turn, determine your experience of life.

Here's a revealing Buddhist quote, just to give you a "different" point of view:

"Suffering follows an evil thought

as surely as a cart follows the horse that draws it."

In truth, your own current experience is the very best diagnostic tool for your life. To the degree your consciousness is fear-based, your experience of life will be negative. You will literally be creating a hellish experience. Many people do this, even now. Some of them actually kill themselves to try to escape the hell that they themselves have created.

But all they do is leave behind their physical body. They can kill it, but they can't kill the part of them that is eternal. You take your consciousness with you, wherever you go, and in whatever form you are.

Whatever you are now lacking in your life is a reflection of what you fear. Where do you enjoy abundance? Where do you suffer lack? The keys to both are in your own beliefs and the thoughts and experiences they create for you. To eliminate the lack, eliminate the fear!

Why not simply take to heart the abundance of Scriptural messages that tell us to live in faith instead of fear? The New Testament in particular is overflowing with such messages.

Suggestion: Reread The Sermon On The Mount (Matthew 5:1 – 7:29) and see if Jesus' words don't somehow "read" a bit differently with the message of this article fresh in your mind.

          Peace be with you,
